THINGS TO DO BEFORE MOVING
Your first step towards a trouble free move begins when you put together a ‘moving checklist’ of what needs to be done. Working through below mentioned check list can help ensure that your move is as stress free as possible.• Confirm removal dates with MA Movers
• Read quotation carefully, discuss and clarify all concerns in detail
• Book insurance at the declared value
• Make arrangements to sell anything you don’t want i.e cars, furniture, etc
• Book flights and check luggage allowance with Travel Agent / Airline
• For local relocations, arrange installation of gadgets such as air conditioners, UPS, electrification, blinds, curtains etc prior to moving at new place
• Make arrangements for pets and plants
• Corona Vaccine and certification
• Complete doctor appointments before moving
• If moving overseas, to get copies of your family’s medical history and prescription detail
• Keep all personal papers, educational certificates, birth, marriage certificates, insurance policies, legal documentation etc in safe custody
• Collect kids educational certifications
• Advise the relevant authorities you are leaving abroad
• Notify all service providers and suppliers about your relocation dates such as Bank, Doctors, Dentist, Optician, Vet, Telephone, Water, Gas, Cable operator, milk supplier, newspaper hawker etc
• Send change of address message to friends, family and other concerned
• Clear the storage room
• Start running down contents of fridge / freezer
• Arrange attendants for children and pets on moving day
• Find and label keys
• Separate jewelry, trinkets and small items
• Sort out linen and clothes
• Clean all outdoor items
• Take down curtains and/or blinds
• Pack your travel and private luggage separately
• Check meter readings and make a note of reading date
• Pack essential items into your hand luggage
• After removal team has emptied the house, check through to ensure everything has been removed
• Switch off power, water and gas supplies
• Hand keys over to Estate Agent
• Transfer or set up new bank accounts
• Notify credit card companies
• Cancel any local store cards or memberships
